Friction. Clothes rubbing against each other, either in the wash or when you’re wearing them. Go for shorter, colder washing cycles that release less micro-fibres and fuzz. We formulated our Bio Laundry Liquid to remove bobbles from cotton fibres after multiple washes.
Yes. Use a good performing detergent and the correct dose. The surfactant (cleaning) molecules remove dirt and stains from fabrics, hold onto them and then take them away in the rinse cycle. Also, don’t wash whites with coloured fabrics.
You can use a detergent specially formulated for colours. Many of these use a dye transfer inhibitor called PVP (Polyvinylpyrrolidone) usually made from petroleum. So we use a selection of plant-based surfactants instead.
Less washing = less bobbles. Check items need washing before chucking them in the laundry basket.
